Summary: A serial killer walks around and kidnaps children - every 17th of a month a child was found drowned in pipes. Special Agent Takizawa tries everything to get him, but till now it was impossible, so he gets a new partner: Agent Nishikido, who is a genius in computer and technique, and maybe together they are able to catch the culprit. But then comes the day when Takki starts to run against his biggest fear, and his world starts to break down....

Tackey knocked with the fingers on the wheel and cursed the traffic on this day. It were only a few meters till he'd reach the bridge. He parked the car on the emergency lane and decided to run the last meters on his own.
He saw the blue caravan standing there and he immediately knew it was Hiraoka's. His heart started to beat faster when he saw the man standing next to the water, grinning brightly like he watched something really exciting. Tackey ran as fast as he could when he realized that the other one was maybe staring at Ryo's drowning body.
“You are too late”, Hiraoka smirked when he saw Tackey running up to him. Before Tackey could do anything he saw the other one pulling out the gun, pointing at him with it.
Tackey felt the heat rising up in him and his body tensed when he saw the evil and dark expression in the other one's eyes. He knew he had only little time till Ryo would be dead, so he had to act now, even though it meant now or never. He stared at the other one and with one swift move he was right next to him.
He remembered the technique he learned some time ago and pressed into the other one's neck, till he sank down to the ground, too shocked to act before his consciousness was gone. Tackey pulled out the handcuffs and chained him to the car.
He started to run up to the water and tried to see something, but there was only darkness down there. He didn't think of anything and just pulled of his coat before he jumped into the water and started to dive around.
He tried to see the other one around there, but there was nothing but plants and stones. He swam around a bit and tried to look if he could see something from above, but there was no sign from Ryo. He grasped the pipe and struggled against the current. He dived again and saw a hand somewhere under the pipe. He tried to reach it and with the second try he managed it to grasp his hand.
He pulled on it and tried to free him there, but his leg was trapped under a stone. Tackey caught some air before he tried it again and finally he managed it to push away the stone which was above Ryo's foot.
He pulled again on the other one's arm and finally freed him from his position. He carried him up and with his last strength he got the other one out of the water. He lied Ryo down on the grass and smacked his cheek softly. “Ryo, Ryo...” but the other one didn't move one single millimeter. Tackey's hands were shivering and he searched in the pocket of his left behind coat for his mobile and called the ambulance.
He put the coat above Ryo's body, but he didn't even know if this would help in any kind of way. He tried it again to bring the other one back, but Ryo wasn't moving at all. He saw the red lights on the streets above and the ambulance drove down till they reached Tackey's position. Right behind he could see two police cars and his coworkers jumping out to get to Tackey.
“Help him...”, Tackey said and saw the ambulance men running up to him. “Yes, sir, but please go away now, we will make our work.” One of the guys said and Tackey just nodded. One of the men came up to him and brought him a blanket to warm him up a bit. “Thanks”, Tackey croaked and looked at the others, who were kneeling around Ryo and trying to bring him back to life.
Tackey walked up to Hiraoka and saw him grinning at him. “I got you...” he said, but in his voice was a kind of frustration because he knew he didn't really get him. “You did nothing.” Tackey said coldly and ordered the others to bring him away. “I will destroy you, Takizawa....” Tackey laughed at that and stepped closer, pushing on the other one's shirt. “How?”
“I will show everyone the photos I took.” He answered but Tackey just grinned brightly.
“Which photos? The one I occupied and burnt yesterday? I found the negatives and the photos in your house, so you can't do anything...” Tackey whispered into the other one's ear and saw his smile disappearing.
“I will tell everyone about it.”
“And no one will believe you.” Tackey said.
“I hope he is dead, dead like my daughter is...”, Hiraoka screamed and Tackey fought against losing his temper.
“I hope I killed those bastard.” Tackey turned around and with two quick moves he was back where the police men stood with Hiraoka and he hit him twice into his face. “You are the bastard.” he answered and nodded at the guys to bring the other one away from there.
Tackey returned to the place where they cared about Ryo and saw them placing him in the ambulance car. “How is he?” Tackey's heart beat faster and he hoped he didn't get bad news.
“He has a small heart beat now, so I think he will make it. He has deep wounds on his chest and arms, and he was a long time under water, but for now he is alright. We bring him to the hospital now.” Tackey nodded at the man and thanked him before he walked up to the car and drove home to change his clothes. He thought he'd be more nervous in this situation, but he knew the doctor's cared for Ryo right now, and he had time to change his clothes before he'd drive there.
He entered the hospital's door short time later and asked for Ryo. The nurse smiled at him and gave him a room number. Tackey knocked shortly and slipped into the room where he saw Ryo lying in the bed, his eyes closed. He looked up at Tackey with tired and powerless eyes and tried to smile slightly at him.
“You are awake? The doctor told me that it's not that bad, I found you in time.” Tackey said and walked up to the bed. Ryo just nodded at him and waited till he was at his side. He was still tired and exhausted and every move hurt him, but he was just glad that Rei was alive. “Rei? Is she alright?”
Tackey grinned and sat down next to Ryo. “You saved her. Because of you she was able to hide there and Hiraoka didn't find her. She ordered me to save your life.”
Ryo nodded at him and tried to sit up a bit. “I am glad that she is okay. I am sorry for causing you so much problems, Tackey.”
“Are you nuts? You saved her life, you caught the killer, and you managed it to get my heart.” Tackey smiled brightly and saw Ryo blinking at him, before he smiled back.
Ryo bent forward a bit and leaned his head against Tackey's shoulder, who closed his eyes and enjoyed the other one's breath he felt in his neck. He stroked Ryo’s back softly and placed a single kiss on Ryo's forehead.
“Now everything will be alright again.” Tackey whispered and felt a joyful jump in his belly.
Epilogue 1
“Ryooooo-channn”, the room door got open and Ryo smiled when he saw Tackey's niece running into the hospital's room.
“Rei”, Ryo smiled at her and winced shortly when she jumped on the bed.
“I bought some flowers and chocolate for you.” She smiled brightly at him and he stroked the girl's head. “Thanks.”
She hugged him tightly and whispered into his ear. “Thanks Ryo-chan for saving me, and for taking care about Tackey. He isn't so grumpy anymore since he knows you.” Ryo laughed at that and saw Tackey's dark glance resting on them.
Epilogue 2
“I am at home since two weeks now, Tackey. I think I can start working again.” Ryo said and pouted when he saw Tackey bringing him the breakfast to the bed.
“As I said, you stay in bed till no wound is there anymore.” Tackey answered and sat next to him. Since Ryo was released from hospital Tackey was caring about him, and he didn't let him make bigger step.
Epilogue 3
“Tackey, it's my leaving today. I have to go back to my departure.” Ryo stood at the door and saw Tackey smiling sadly at him. “Do you really have to go now?”
Ryo smiled back and carried the bags back into the living room. “What do you do?” Tackey stared at him in disbelieve and stepped closer when Ryo pulled out a paper.
“You want to move here in this departure?” Tackey's smile grew bigger and bigger and he embraced Ryo closely, placing some kisses on his lips.
“If you want, yes...and it seems you want it.” Ryo laughed and leaned against the other one.

You know I was always thinking about this story these past few days because you update it quite faster than your other fics so yeah. And the story is pretty interesting too so i was really hooked. you did an amazing job! i was not disappointed with its ending :)
i'm glad takki came just right on time, i had less worry for ryo because takki wasn't that freaking out. it's just sad that hiroaka looks like someone going crazy now. idk, though. well, it's a job well done for ryo and tackey because rei is safe and no more children would be missing. i'm jsut to happy about that.
rei is so cute! she likes ryo, doesn't she? lol at takki for bossing around ryo. well, it's about resting ayway so it's not a big deal at all. they're so cute together!

Date: 2012-01-23 07:51 pm (UTC)I love when Tackey dives into the water to save Ryo. I could see it just like it was a movie. I swear there is a drama deal here somewhere. I love how Tackey is able to think of things even through great danger, as if losing Ryo was not an option.
I am glad that both Tackey and Ryo have a reason to smile now. They both have such beautiful smiles. They have gone through so much in this fic I am glad they finally get some rest and happiness.
On a side note, I completely understand Tackey's frustration with his stubborn patient, as I am dealing with a bit of the same thing right now. They seem to want to rush the healing ne.
