Summary: They are all living in a dormitory, and feelings start to grow between some of them, but love isn't a simple thing, and barriers are everywhere.
Kame walked down the corridor and put his hands in his pockets. The last days he tried to avoid Yamada, but he knew that he’d see him on the party tomorrow. He had to think about the last happening, and sighed deeply. He knew he kissed the other one, and he knew why he did it. He was in love with Yamada since months, but he never disavowed it because he was much older than Yamada was, and they lived in two different worlds. That’s what Kame thought, but after this kiss in the library he wasn’t sure anymore.
He didn’t know what he should do now, and he didn’t know what would happen on the party. He really thought of not going there, and just staying in his room, reading a book or watching TV. Maybe that would be the best thing for him. So he decided to stay away from the event.
Yamada sat in his room and looked at the rings in his hand. He ordered them, because he always wanted to have such rings, even though he didn’t know whom he’d give the second one. Of course he thought of Kame, but he knew, that the other one wasn’t interested in him. Yamada didn’t know how often he wished to be a few years older, and being in the group with Uchi, Ryo and Kame. He twisted the rings in his hands and recognized Yuya’s sight on him.
“What’s up Yamada?”, he asked when saw Yamada looking at him.
“Nothing, everything is perfect”, the younger one answered and sighed.
“Are you giving him the second ring?”, Yuya wanted to know and pointed at the little thing in Yamada’s hand.
“Whom?”
“Whom…Santa clause…Kame, of course”, Yuya answered and rolled his eyes.
“No, I think he isn’t interested in that way.”, Yamada replied and put the rings into a small box in his nightstand. He didn’t know why, but he decided to take the rings with him on the next day.
“Why do I have to bloat the balloons with him?” Yoko whispered at Subaru during a short break.
“Yoko, please, do not tell me you don’t like him”, Subaru answered and rolled his eyes.
“What? Subaru, the boy doesn’t say a word, he is just sitting there”, Yoko whined and pouted.
“Yoko, have you ever heard that someone is shy? Oh, you must have heard about it, because you are it too, baka!”, Subaru answered and hit Yoko’s head slightly.
“I am not shy”, Yoko stroked his head and stoke out his tongue. “Oh no, you aren’t”, Subaru sighed and rolled his eyes. “You are more than shy, and you are stupid, because you don’t want to see that you like this boy”, he added and walked up to help Yasu with the decoration of the room.
Yoko stood there and looked at Hikaru, who was still sitting on the floor, working with the preparation of the balloons. He thought of his own feelings, and he knew that there was something in him jumping up and down when he saw the boy on the corridors or in the canteen, but wasn’t this just impossible?! He sighed and decided to walk back and helping the other one.
“Hey, Hikaru”, Yoko laughed and smashed one of the balloons in Hikaru’s direction. The balloon hit Hikaru’s forehead and he giggled, smashing the balloon back to the other one. He was shy and silent all the time, because he was afraid of talking to Yoko, but the ice seemed to melt in this moment. “Hey, Senpai, that’s not fair”, Hikaru giggled and got another balloon against his forehead.
Yoko laughed and stood up to run away from Hikaru’s “balloon attack”. Hikaru ran after him and shot one after the other, trying to hit Yoko. They laughed and ran up and down in the room and didn’t even recognize that Subaru and Yassan left the room minutes ago.
Yoko stopped walking immediately and Hikaru ran against him, making them stumbling and falling on the ground. Both laughed and stopped when their eyes met. “Eh…sorry, Yokoyama-kun”, Hikaru started and wanted to stand up.
“No problem, ah, Hikaru-kun, do you want to go to eat something with me….sometimes…or so…”, Yoko stumbled and turned red.
“Sure”, Hikaru said irritated and smiled at the other one. So maybe that was the beginning of something bigger. At least both of them hoped it.
“Hey, Yabu”, Keito grinned and put down the carrots.
“Hey, ah, you still started with work.”, Yabu smiled back and pointed at the mess in the kitchen.
“Somehow…yes…but I really need your help”, Keito said in a desperate way.
After two hours they were finished with work and sat in the kitchen, both exhausted, not only from work, but also from giggling most of the time.
“Yabu, I really like you”, Keito said out of the blue.
“What?”, Yabu answered and knitted his eyebrows. He stared at Keito, who was biting on his lips and smiled at him. He wanted to answer, but he only took Keito’s chin in his hand and kissed him slightly on his lips.
“I thought you don’t like me”, Keito smiled when they dissolved from their embracement.
“Why? I just wasn’t sure because of you and Inoo….and Yuya…you know”, Yabu answered and curled some of the other one’s hair.
“But Inoo and Yuya have nothing to do with us,…”, Keito replied, but got stopped by another kiss. Yabu was just glad to have him and he didn’t want to think about anything else right now.
Yamada stood in the corner of the hall and looked around, but he couldn’t see Kame anywhere. He saw his friends, Uchi and Ryo on the other side, but Kame was no where around them. He saw Hikaru and Yoko talking to each other, Yuya and Inoo sneaked through the back door and Keito and Yabu were standing in front of their buffet, the other students were chatting and laughing, but Kame was missing.
Yamada had the rings in his pocket and he felt like he could feel them there. His heart started to beat fast and his breathe was irregular. He decided to tell Kame about everything, he would make this step, no matter how afraid he was about it.
He looked around in the room, but he couldn't see him anywhere. “Ah, sorry, Uchi-kun, do you know where Kamenashi-kun is?”
“No, sorry, but maybe you take a look in the library. I think he said something about being there”, Uchi answered and smiled when he saw Ryo waiting on the other side of the room.
Yamada turned around and ran out of the room, directly to the library on the second floor. He could see a shadow through the window next to the library and opened the door. Kame was walking up and down, a few books in his hands and sorted them in.
“Kazuya, here are you”, Yamada said and stepped into the room. “Ano, yes, but I have to go now”, Kame said suddenly and plced the books on the table next to him.
“Can I talk to you?”
“Sorry, I just have some plans now”, Kame smiled slightly and walked out of the room.
“You are avoiding me?!”, Yamada shouted and bit on his lips when Kame stopped walking and turned around slowly.
“What?”, Kame looked at the younger one and knitted his eyebrows.
“You are avoiding me since you kissed me”, he said again.
“No, I mean, yes, I … “ Kame stuttered but he didn't know what he should say. Yes, he ignored the other one, but he really didn't know what to do. He was unsure about his feelings and so he started to run away.
“Maybe it's the best if I go now”, Kame said and pat Yamada's head softly.
Yamada felt some tears came up in his eyes. He didn't know what was going on, and why the other one was running away from him. He bit on his lips and put his hand into his pocket.
“It's for you”, he said and put the ring on the table before he started to run. He stopped when he reached the garden and sat down on the bench. He hadn't the strength to confess anything, but at least he gave him the ring...more or less....
He could here some footsteps behind him and a hand touched his shoulder slightly. He saw his ring sparkling on one of the fingers and turned around slowly. Kame stood right behind him and smiled. He walked around and sat next to Yamada before he started to talk: “I was afraid, because I didn't know how you feel towards me, and I thought you'd never fall for me”, he looked at the other one and waited for an answer.
Yamada started to grin and before he could think about his reaction, he hugged the other one tightly. Kame laughed and tousled through the other one's hair, before he raised his chin a bit to place a soft kiss on Yamada's lips.
“the second kiss is better than the first”, Yamada grinned and opened his eyes to look at the other one. Kame smiled back and kissed him again. “It will get better from one to the other”, he only said and bent over again.
